Talisman Prologue App Reviews

Great game but no save

This is a great game, but you have to play it in one session. There is no way to save the game. This is very frustrating, so there is no point in playing the game again until the developer can come up with an amazing new technology that allows you to save your progress.

Not as good as the original Talisman

I have played dozens of games of the multi-character Talisman and was expecting a similar level of satisfaction. There are a few things just wrong with this game that make it painful to play: 1) It loses your game. If you exit the game in the middle, after a while it forgets where you left off and you have to start all over again. The other Talisman game remembers where you left off, and when it doesnt it has saved your progress so you can continue. 2) The UI is worse than the regular Talisman game. The regular game allows you to make most decisions on the right side of the screen. For some reason they moved things around so now you are tapping on different sides of the screen, far less convenient. The UI also wastes a lot of your time by delaying the action and repeatedly telling you how spaces and cards work that you already know. There is no setting to speed it up either. 3) The game appears to be based on random gameplay. It seems like most objectives are to draw cards until you find the one you want. You are also ranked based on how quickly you meet the objective. These two things do not go well together. It would be better if the objective was less random, or if you were not measured on how quickly you can draw a card from the bottom of the deck. Much less satisfying than the regular Talisman game. Not worth paying for unless they fix these items.

Does not stick to project timeplan

Multiplayer scheduled for Summer 2013. now almost half year later still Not released!

iPod 4th Generation

Since the last two updates the game doesn´t work anymore on my iPod 4th generation!!! I hope that gets fixed very soon. I like the game very much and I would really like to play it again.

Great job!

Great port of this legendary game! They did it right! The quest is a fun way to play the game alone until the multiplayer release later on! Great game!

Amazing!

If you are a fan of table top role playing games there is unlimited fun to be had with this game! Production values are fantastic! Easy to learn - you will be questing within minutes.

Awesome!

As awesome as it is, I wish you could make it so you could play the real game rather than quests. I love the assassin though! And finally, make it so we can buy the expansion packs or something.

Great adaptation

Great solo game based on the original board game, great app. Good job. Cant wait for multiplayer version.

Great game!

Pick this up if you get a chance.

Must have game!!

This is a great game, cant wait to get the multiplayer version and hopefully they start making all the expansions!

Worth It

I am a big fan of the Talisman board game and this app is excellent. The designers have managaed to create an engaging single player experience while staying true to the original multiplayer game. The graphics are great. the camera zooms in on the small spaces well and gameplay is very fluid on my iPod. I hope that they continue to add characters, board expansions, and, hopefully, Multiplayer! My only complaint is that your character is represented by an unpainted, grey figurine. While this is true the board game version, many fans paint their figures, and with an iPod app there is no reason they coudnt be coloured! Well worth 5 dollars!!! Buy it so they can add more!!! Good work Thumbstar!

Excellent reworking

This is an excellent repurposing of the Talisman game into a single player experience. It has all of the core gameplay of the board game but wrapped into an entertaining and very replayable singe player game. Well worth the price

Love this game. Looking forward to multiplayer.

Im a huge fan of Talisman (used to play it all the time) and this is a great, well-thought-out version for iPad. Quests are fun, but I am really looking forward to the multiplayer update because some elements just dont make as much sense for a single player game. Til then, I am still enjoying the best fantasy quest board game ever made.

Great version of a great game, but...

Played this game on the board for decades, and this is a great digital version, better than the board in some ways (especially solo play) however there is a big problem: When I stop playing mid quest, the game resets the quest and i must start at the beginning. The benefit of an ios game, especially on the iPhone is to be able to play a bit, pause, and come back to it when I have time. Having to sit down and dedicate the time to complete a quest or lose it is irritating at best. With several characters to play each with a quest running, I should be able to stop and come back to any character and continue. 5 stars if they fix this. It seems you can pause for a few hours, but past that your progress is lost. Ouch.

Fun time

Great game, but would be AMAZING if it supported multiplayer.

Excellent

An amazing single player adaptation of a great boardgame.

A nice walk on memory lane

Cool to find that game and to play again. But you really must find a way so we can play multiplayer (hotseat, online or computer AI).

Nice digital incarnation of the classic board game!

One cant go wrong with purchasing this classic roll playing board game for .99 cents. It has all the elements I remember from the original game but with the added benefit of a smooth digital interface. The game hums along smoothly as the App keeps track of health, strength, craft, followers, spells and magic objects. Interacting with the games interface is intuitive, smooth and straight forward. This App is definitely a pleasure to play. The graphics are quite nice and I like the attempt to mirror the 4th Edition release of the real life board game. This App version is the basic Talisman main board with the basic 10 or so original characters to choose from. As it stands right now its a "Solo" 1 player adventure which still contains a lot of excitement and many challenges as everything is dependent on dice rolls & choosing and following Adventure Card instructions. Im looking very forward to a "Multiplayer" App update in the future.

Like to board game

I enjoy that game, it reflect the board game. The only thing it missing is the possibility to player in multiplayers.

OK

I wish they would make it multi-player. It gets boring being the only one on the board. And if theyd add the expansions to the game that would be cool too. Right now it just seems like a unfinished DEMO model.
